Alex Serge Vieux,
Chairman, Founder & CEO, DASAR
Alex Serge Vieux, chairman, chief executive officer and founder of DASAR, brings more than 20 years experience in the IT industry to the company. Mr. Vieux's accomplished background as an entrepreneur, high-tech journalist, professor and advisor to the French government makes him a seasoned IT executive with a broad knowledge base. For the second year in a row, Mr. Vieux has been named in Time Magazine 's Digital Europe list as one of the top 25 people shaping Europe's new economy. Currently, Mr. Vieux directs several international companies, including BVRP, Check Point Software, Commerce One, Computer Associates, Kyriba, Madge, Qualys, Thrunet and White Pajama.

 

Michael Rogers,
Editor & General Manager, Newsweek
Michael Rogers is editor and general manager of Newsweek.MSNBC.com, and a contributing editor for Newsweek. Mr. Rogers is also vice president of Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive, the electronic publishing subsidiary of the Washington Post Company. Previously, Mr. Rogers created and then wrote Newsweek's technology section for 10 years. He has won numerous journalism awards, including the American Association for the Advancement of Science "Distinguished Science Writing Award." In 1992, Mr. Rogers became managing editor of Newsweek Interactive. Most recently he has been involved in launching the new alliance between Newsweek, the Washington Post, NBC and MSNBC. Mr. Rogers studied Physics and Creative Writing at Stanford University.

 

Joel Dreyfuss,
International Editor, Red Herring

Joel Dreyfuss is the editor-in-chief of the Red Herring. Before coming to the magazine, Mr. Dreyfuss was a senior writer for Bloomberg Markets magazine. Earlier, he was editor-in-chief at Urban Box Office, an Internet start-up. He worked for Fortune twice, most recently as a technology columnist. Earlier, he spent eight years as a Fortune associate editor and was the magazine's Tokyo bureau chief from 1986 to 1988. He was the editor-in-chief of Information Week from 1993 to 1996, and the editor of PC Magazine from 1991 to 1993. He has served on the board of the American Society of Magazine Editors and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Mr. Dreyfuss earned a B.S. degree from the City College of the City University of New York and was an Urban Journalism Fellow at the University of Chicago.

 

Waichi Sekiguchi,
Editorial Writer, Nihon Keizai Shimbun
Waichi Sekiguchi is an editorial writer for Nikkei Newspaper, the largest economic daily in Asia. He joined Nihon Keizai Shimbun, Inc. in 1982 and currently covers the Japanese IT industry and cyberspace issues in Tokyo. Sekiguchi used to be a Washington correspondent during the Bush and first Clinton Administrations, covering US trade and government policies. Prior to that, he was a research fellow at the Center for International Affairs at Harvard University and a chief writer for Nikkei Weekly, the English edition of the Nikkei Newspaper. He has also written books on the Internet and IT industry. Titles include "Cyberspace Revolution", "The Frontier of Cyberbusiness", "Moderntimes 2001", etc. He graduated from Hitotsubashi University and he presently teaches at Waseda University and Meiji University as a part-time instructor.

 

Kaiser Kuo,
Beijing bureau chief, Red Herring
Kaiser Kuo is the Beijing bureau chief of Red Herring. Mr. Kuo has lived in China for 12 years, where he has worked in the Internet and mobile industries and as a technology and business writer for such publications as Time, TimeAsia, China Economic Review, Asia Inc., and the South China Morning Post. He is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and has an MA in East Asian Studies from the University of Arizona. Mr. Kuo was co-founder and lead guitarist of one of China's most successful rock bands, Tang Dynasty. He lives in Beijing with his wife and one-year-old daughter.
